Educational and scientific activities in Technical University of Sofia
Summary: Brief survey of educational structure and scientific activities of the Technical University of Sofia with more information about the research in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. International relation of the Technical University of Sofia, including possibilities for research and professional development through programs for mobility of students, professors and scientists, the promotion of lifelong learning and education, and possibilities for international cooperation.
Professor Ivan Yatchev is director of International Exchange and Integration, Technical University of Sofia and President of Federation of Scientific and Technical Unions in Bulgaria. He was born in 1958 in Sofia, Bulgaria. He obtained his Master of Sc. degree in 1983, PhD degree in 1988 and D.Sc. degree in 2007 in Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Sofia. He has worked as a full professor from 2008 at the Technical University of Sofia.

Prof. Yatchev is Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal “Electrotechnica and Electronica”. He is Chair of the International Symposium on Electrical Apparatus and Technologies SIELA, which is a biannual IEEE conference held in Bulgaria, as well as member of the committees of international conferences – COMPUMAG, CEFC, OPTIM, ICATE, OIPE, PES, PEMC and different national conferences. He is author and co-author of more than 160 publications, including 7 books and manuals for students. His research interests are in the area of numerical methods for field problems (finite element method, boundary integral equation method, coupled problems, electromagnetic fields, thermal fields and dynamic simulation), optimization, computer-aided design, high- and low-voltage electrical apparatus.

Professor Ivan Milenov is the Dean of the Faculty of Telecommunication and Electrical Equipment in Transport, Todor Kableshkov University of Transport , Sofia.
Basic lecture courses: Electrical machinery and equipment, Electrical machinery, Electrical appliances, Electrical Part of Electric, Plants AC traction electric drives, Designing of power supply and electrical transport, High-speed transport.
