In June 2005, the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport, upon the proposal of the National Council for Higher Education, issued a licence to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Osijek to organise and conduct new undergraduate and graduate university study programmes of Electrical and Computer Engineering accompanied by professional study programmes all of which are in line with the Bologna Declaration. The study program of differential year has been performed as of the academic year 2007/2008.

On 20th February 2006, the University of Osijek Senate reached the decision on the organisation and implementation of the postgraduate university doctoral study programme of Electrical Engineering. The program consists of two branches, namely Power Engineering and Communication and Informatics both of which are in line with the Bologna Declaration.
