ABOUT THE GROUP
The Research Group for Intelligent Systems and Robotics (IG04) was established in 2018 within the Department of Computer Engineering and Automation (now the Department of Computer Engineering and Intelligent Systems) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia. The group focuses on research and development at the intersection of artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation, aiming to design intelligent systems capable of perceiving their environment, learning from data, making autonomous decisions, and operating safely and efficiently in complex real-world conditions.
The group’s mission is to bridge fundamental research with practical implementation. The group develops theoretical foundations, algorithms, and mathematical models while simultaneously creating applied solutions that address real-world challenges in industry, agriculture, autonomous vehicles, healthcare, and related domains. By combining machine learning, advanced perception systems, robotics, and intelligent control, the group aims to enable next-generation autonomous and adaptive systems.
