This week, FERIT.AIxperience 2026 was held at FERIT, bringing together students, PhD candidates, researchers and industry professionals for a two-day programme dedicated to the exploration and application of artificial intelligence.
The programme started with the AI meet.ing sessions, where participants explored topics including AI applications in medical imaging (sponsored by IEEE), the transformation of robotic perception through foundation models, and the societal and regulatory challenges associated with the growing adoption of artificial intelligence. The first day concluded with a lecture and hands-on workshop by CROZ, offering practical insights into AI-assisted software engineering.
The second day began with the Student/Ph.D. meet.ing, where students, PhD candidates and early-career researchers presented their research, while the AI Project Pitch Talks showcased ongoing projects applying artificial intelligence across a variety of fields. The event concluded with a panel discussion, “The Future of Software Engineering Careers in the Age of AI”, featuring Josip Šokčević (Valley Labs), Brando Koch (Intelligentia) and Hrvoje Leventić (FERIT).
FERIT.AIxperience 2026 once again highlighted the importance of collaboration between academia and industry in shaping the future of artificial intelligence.
We would like to thank our partner organisations, speakers, participants and everyone else who helped make this year's FERIT.AIxperience a success.
