The kick-off conference of the Renewable Energy Mapping for Rural Development (RenewMap) project was held on 24 April at the Regional Competence Centre ELPROS in Osijek.
The conference brought together representatives of the academic community, experts and stakeholders interested in renewable energy and sustainable rural development, with the aim of presenting the project and encouraging knowledge exchange and future cooperation.
The event started with speeches by the Dean of FERIT, Full Professor Tomislav Matić, PhD, and the project leader, Full Professor Zvonimir Klaić, PhD. Participants were also addressed by the Deputy Mayor of Osijek, Dragan Vulin, and the Deputy County Prefect of Osijek-Baranja County, Josip Miletić.
Following the opening session, the project, its main objectives and planned activities were presented. The programme continued with a stakeholder workshop and expert presentations focusing on renewable energy potential and energy efficiency.
Special emphasis was placed on networking and the exchange of experiences, fostering cooperation between institutions and experts involved in the development of sustainable energy solutions.
The project is implemented within the Interreg Hungary–Croatia Programme.
