We invite all interested participants to join the lecture "Quantum Computing for Engineers", which will take place on April 28, 2026, from 11:30 to 14:45 in K1-16, FERIT Campus.
Quantum Computing for Engineers is a practical and accessible introduction to quantum computing for anyone interested in how this technology works and where it can be applied. The lecture will cover why quantum computing matters today, common myths around the field, and core concepts such as superposition, entanglement, and interference. Through practical examples, participants will see quantum circuits, qubit state visualization, and the Qiskit workflow: from building and optimizing circuits to running them and analyzing results. The session will also include real-world industry use cases and the future direction of the technology.
The lecture will be delivered by Luka Kaučić, an Infrastructure Specialist at IBM, Qiskit Advocate, certified IBM Quantum developer, and soon to be IBM Quantum Ambassador. He is actively involved in education, technology outreach, and connecting industry with academia.
To make it easier to follow the lecture, participants are welcome to bring their own laptops.
