On Friday, 23 January 2026, the FERIT Committee for the Popularisation of Science is organising the Doctoral Studies Day, intended for doctoral candidates and early-career researchers. The event will take place from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The location will be announced later.

The programme will begin with an introductory lecture by the Vice-Dean, followed by the presentation of doctoral research through a poster section. Depending on the number of submissions, doctoral candidates will present their work either through poster presentations lasting up to 45 minutes or through short pitch presentations. The final part of the programme is reserved for a poster session and informal networking.

All current, former and future doctoral students are invited to participate, including those who are not employed at FERIT. Participants will have the opportunity to exhibit a poster and present their research to a wider audience, including faculty members, students and representatives of industry. Posters may present a scientific paper, an overview of a research field, or a topic the author has previously worked on or is currently researching. The poster does not have to be new; works that have already been presented elsewhere, for example at conferences, may also be submitted. A poster may have multiple authors, but it is presented by one doctoral candidate, who will also briefly introduce it during the pitch session, lasting up to five minutes.

During the poster session, the posters will be displayed and presenters will introduce their work to interested visitors, take part in discussions and answer questions related to their research. By participating in the Doctoral Studies Day, doctoral candidates gain the opportunity to present their work to the academic and professional community, meet other researchers and learn about their fields of work, receive feedback and suggestions for further research development, as well as obtain a certificate of participation in a science popularisation activity and a research seminar presentation. In addition, FERIT will provide poster printing and the printed poster will remain with the author after the event.

Posters should be prepared in PDF format, size A1, with freedom in design. The use of high-resolution images (approximately 300 DPI) is recommended, and the PDF should be exported using print / high-quality settings. It is mandatory to include the logo of the Committee for the Popularisation of Science, available in versions for light and dark backgrounds.

The deadline for poster submission is Monday, 19 January 2026, and applications can be submitted via the Application Form.
