VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
for the admission of 30 candidates to the postgraduate university doctoral study programme in
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
in the academic year 2019/2020
I.
- The postgraduate university doctoral study programme in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science covers the scientific area of Technical Sciences, scientific field of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and is carried out at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek.
- The postgraduate university doctoral study programme in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science lasts for three (3) years, i.e. six (6) semesters. Upon completion of the programme, students acquire 180 ECTS credits and are awarded the academic title of the Doctor of Science.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

The following groups of candidates are eligible to enrol in the postgraduate university doctoral study programme:
- candidates who had completed four-year university undergraduate (pre-Bologna) or graduate study programmes in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Informatics at Croatian universities can apply for the admission to the postgraduate university doctoral study programme. Candidates who have a grade point average (GPA) at the undergraduate and graduate or four-year university undergraduate (pre-Bologna) study programme of at least 3.8 are eligible to apply. Exceptionally, if a candidate's GPA is lower than 3.8 but not lower than 3.0, a candidate can enrol in the postgraduate university doctoral study programme based on the recommendation letters of two university professors or based on research results a candidate did during or upon graduating. Candidates holding a Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics or Informatics will be required to take an entrance exam and/or differential exams;
- candidates holding a Master of Science degree with a specialisation in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related fields are eligible to enrol in the postgraduate university doctoral study programme. Candidates holding a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related fields from foreign universities are eligible to enrol in the postgraduate university doctoral study programme after undergoing the process of recognition of academic diplomas. Candidates holding a Master of Science degree in a different field they would like to enrol in might be asked to take differential exams;
- candidates holding a Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from foreign universities are eligible to enrol in the postgraduate university doctoral study programme after undergoing the process of recognising academic diplomas and if they meet the admission requirements specified under first the paragraphs of this article.
Speaking one foreign language is mandatory.
III.
In addition to an application form, candidates are required to submit the following:
- an original or a certified copy of an undergraduate and graduate, four-year university undergraduate (pre-Bologna) or a postgraduate Master degree diploma or a certificate of recognition of academic diplomas;
- a diploma supplement related to undergraduate and graduate or four-year university undergraduate (pre-Bologna) study programmes or a transcript of records;
- recommendation letters of two university professors if a candidate’s GPA is lower than 3.8 but not lower than 3.0;
- a birth certificate, a copy of a certificate of nationality or a proof of citizenship and two photographs (4x6 cm);
- Curriculum Vitae;
- a list and copies of published scientific and expert papers;
- a list of patents and project participations;
- a company/institution’s statement regarding their covering tuition fees (if legal entities pay for their tuition fees) or a personally signed statement (if a candidate pays for his/her tuition fees).

Selected candidates have to enrol in the programme by 29th November 30th2020.
IV.
The postgraduate university doctoral study programme in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science tuition fees
The postgraduate university doctoral study programme tuition fees are HRK 51,000.00. The fees can be paid in 6 equal instalment payments of HRK 8,500.00 prior to semester enrolment or one can use student loans provided by banks.
The postgraduate university doctoral study programme tuition fees for candidates holding a Master of Science degree are HRK 27,000.00 and can be paid in 3 equal instalment payments of HRK 9,000.00 prior to semester enrolment.
Tuition fees are to be paid to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek account, IBAN: HR19 2390 0011 1000 16777, Hrvatska poštanska banka.
V.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The selection of candidates to be admitted to the postgraduate university doctoral study programme is based on a cumulative grade point average earned at undergraduate and graduate study programmes and four-year university pre-Bologna study programmes, published papers and candidates’ interviews. The interview is a mandatory part of the selection procedure.
A candidate who does not meet the interview requirements will be eliminated from the further procedure.
Candidates are admitted to the postgraduate university doctoral study programme pursuant to the selection procedure rank.
